Prison Ministry
“Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give thee rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.”
Matthew 11:28-29 (KJV)
“…They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
Mark 2:17 (KJV)
The Prison Ministry of Mount Zion Apostolic Church of Canada, Mississauga location, serves the Women’s Prison in Kitchener, Ontario. The goal of the ministry is to restore the relationship between those incarcerated with their Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ meeting the individual’s needs – intellectual, emotional, and spiritual.
The Mount Zion Apostolic Church of Canada is becoming more active as we seek to attend special programs in the institution. We often provide gifts on special occasions such as, Easter, Mother’s Day, and Christmas.
Through outreach, dialogue and sharing the message of peace – Jesus Christ loves us all and died to save humanity – those that are incarcerated are encouraged to be strong in times of difficulties, begin facing life in a healthier way with greater confidence, make sound decisions, build constructive relationships, and become a positive member of our society.
The prison ministry aims to help with the rehabilitation of the incarcerated in a caring atmosphere and through God-directed care. The women are accepted and loved unconditionally as Christ Jesus demonstrated to all of humanity when He died on the cross. They are shown the love of Christ Jesus through genuine fellowship and are counseled and encouraged to strive to become what God wants them to be.
The ultimate goal of the prison ministry is to have the women after being released, receive salvation, become an active member of our assembly or other assembly of the apostolic faith and, be a productive and positive contributor to society.
