History of Mount Zion Bible College
(At 30 Pemican Court, Toronto)
The history of the Mount Zion Bible College is a history of the marvelous work of the Lord. It began at the end of their Annual General Convocation in September 1988. Dr. Evans, a noted Evangelist and visionary from Jamaica, “touched their palates” with the thought of establishing a monotheistic institution for Biblical studies in the city of Toronto.
Before the idea could be embraced it was suggested that the powerful, born again Jew, Dr. Joe Nelson of Parkesburg, West Virginia be invited to aid in the inauguration of the institution. At that meeting the unequivocal support of
A small team – Dr. Cawley, Evangelist McGann and Sis. Powell worked hard over the ensuing four months to develop the infrastructure to launch the Bible College. The Parkesburg Bible College under the leadership of Dr. Nelson – International President, provided significant material, guidance, support and accreditation for the Bible College.
January 4, 1989 marked the commencement of the Mount Zion Apostolic Bible College. The church has never been the same as since
From a small beginning of fifty students over six hundred students have attended forty different courses. Over fifteen students have received Certificates and Diplomas; several students have received Associate Bachelor or Bachelor degree; five students received Masters Degree; and two have received their Doctorate Degree in Theology and Religious Administration, respectively, through the accrediting College – Parkesburg Bible College.
Four Bible Colleges have spawned in Edmonton, Calgary, Montreal and England and now Grand Cayman. There are two offsite lecture centers at Bethlehem United Church and Grace Mount Zion Apostolic Church.
